Equi Consultancy Partners has adopted the United Nations Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs) to reinforce our commitment to promoting gender equality and women's empowerment across the workplace, marketplace, and community.
The WEPs are a set of seven principles that offer guidance to business on how to promote gender equality and women's empowerment in the workplace, marketplace and community. They were developed by UN Women and the UN Global Compact and are grounded in international labour and human rights standards.
The Seven WEPs
The seven Women's Empowerment Principles are: establish high-level corporate leadership for gender equality; treat all women and men fairly at work — respect and support human rights and non-discrimination; ensure the health, safety and well-being of all women and men workers; promote education, training and professional development for women; implement enterprise development, supply chain and marketing practices that empower women; promote equality through community initiatives and advocacy; and measure and publicly report on progress to achieve gender equality.
Our commitment
By adopting the WEPs, Equi Consultancy Partners is committing to embed these principles into our own operations and to support our clients to do the same. We believe that gender equality is not just a moral imperative — it is a business imperative. Organisations that advance gender equality are more innovative, more resilient and better positioned to serve diverse customers and communities.
Nora Fraser, Founder and CEO of Equi Consultancy Partners, said: "Adopting the WEPs reflects our commitment to walking the talk on gender equality. We hold ourselves to the same standards we encourage our clients to adopt, and we are committed to measuring and reporting on our progress."
We invite other organisations to join us in adopting the WEPs and advancing gender equality in the workplace, marketplace and community. Learn more about the Women's Empowerment Principles at weps.org.
