Equi Consultancy Partners' CEO, Nora Fraser, recently joined a delegation of leaders at the 2025 Asia-Pacific Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs) Forum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The two-day event convened over 200 women's empowerment champions from across the Asia-Pacific region, including business leaders, government officials, and civil society representatives.
The WEPs Forum provided a platform for leaders to share best practices, discuss challenges, and explore opportunities to advance gender equality in the workplace and beyond. Nora Fraser participated in discussions on inclusive leadership, the role of business in advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and strategies for embedding gender equality into organisational culture.
Key themes from the forum
The forum highlighted several critical themes for advancing gender equality across the Asia-Pacific region. Participants emphasised the importance of moving beyond compliance-driven approaches to gender equality and embedding inclusion into core business strategy. There was strong consensus that organisations that genuinely commit to gender equality outperform their peers on key business metrics.
Discussions also focused on the role of data in driving accountability. Leaders shared examples of how organisations are using workforce data to identify gaps, set targets and measure progress. The forum reinforced that transparency and accountability are essential for meaningful progress.
